white birch crotch wood bowl
This piece is highly unusual.  It is turned from a piece of white birch from Stratton, VT.  The section is cut from the crotch of a tree where two large branches met.  The 'swirly' design seen that extends into the bowl itself is where the wood from each branch met.  Isn't nature amazing?  The inside is polished smooth and is finished with a non-toxic beeswax based product.  This could be strictly for aesthetic appeal or used in a practical manner.
Bowl diameter is 8".  Total length is 15".  Width at widest point is 13".
